This is was always the intuitive and logical conclusion, but now it is backed with science.

According to a study in by JAMA Internal medicine, medical cannabis has ALREADY saved as many as 1700 people from dying of overdoses from prescription opiates.

And medical marijuana is only legal in 23 states, and it generally under-prescribed by doctors. The people who get it are the ones who are educated about the benefits already.

This just makes so much sense on every level. For the up to 100 million Americans that suffer from chronic pain, medical cannabis provides safe and proven effective relief. Oxycontin, Vicodin, and other prescription drugs kill thousands per year from overdose, and also have terrible side effects that seriously impact the quality of life for pain med patients.

In accordance with recognized risks of overuse, abuse, and death, the DEA is making it harder to access hydrocodone, Vicodin, and related drugs by rescheduling them from III to II on the list of Federal controlled substances.
